CHS has a full time opening for an Administrative Assistant to work in a new corporate onsite health and wellness clinic at the Burns and McDonnell Health Center in Kansas City, MO. The hours are Monday through Friday, with no weekends. SCOPE: Under direct supervision, provides administrative support to managers and staff. Responsible for front desk administrative services, greeting clients, answering phones, electronic scheduling and billing. Exercises independent judgment in the resolution of administrative problems. Assist with department operations, as required or directed to maintain workflow. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Answers the phone, and assists callers with questions or special needs. * Schedules appointments. * Interacts daily with clients and patients. * Provides follow-up on No Shows and reschedules appointments as needed. * Archives charts on employees who are no longer employed at NYSE. * Relieves the front desk receptionist for lunch and covers the front desk when the receptionist is out. * Reviews all client protocols with staff and enters data into medical software system. * Takes payment from patients via cash, check, and credit card. Responsible for bank transactions and daily charge card reconciliation. * Assists in filing and pulling charts. * Informs clinic manager of any problems, changes, or requests that might occur. * Generates and distributes weekly and monthly reports. * Generates and mails monthly invoices, ensuring accuracy. * Provides CPT and ICD-9 codes. * Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA privacy regulations * Assists in training new employees, and provides administrative support to per-diem medical staff. * Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * A high school diploma or equivalent * 3+ years working in a doctor’s office or other medical facility and familiarity with medical terminology preferred * CPT and ICD-9 coding experience preferred * Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Windows * Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing Receptionist duties, meet and greet patients, scheduling, phone skills, office equipment operation, inventory, ordering office and other supplies, filing, administrative duties such as reports, submitting work requests, and other duties as assigned.
