Position Overview
The role of an Application Engineer (AE) is to provide technical expertise and ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient and effective manner. The AE is responsible for generating proposals for New Pumps and Motors as well as quoting Pump & Motor Repair and Field Service projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Field customer phone calls and provide solutions with the use of factory reps or outside sales when necessary
Prepare professional and timely customer proposals
Resolve customer issues during the production/repair process
Prioritize incoming requests from outside sales, customers, and management
Work directly with shop management to provide quality inspection and assembly solutions for repair
Attend team meetings to discuss current service levels, team schedule, and specific tasks that need to be completed
As necessary, provide support to other Application Engineers to sustain customer needs
Requirements:
Application Engineer
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field
Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
Strong technical computer skills
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Ability to deal with customers and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
Possess strong written and verbal skills including public speaking and presentation
Demonstrate the ability to implement process improvements
Fundamental knowledge of rotating equipment and shop repair practices preferred
