Provides safety checks, repairs, tests, calibrates, installs and maintains patient monitors, patient beds, nurses communication equipment, EEG equipment, EKG equipment, flowmeters, laboratory equipment, electrosurgical units, and various other biomedical, electronic and electrical equipment. Provides technical assistance to hospital staff and operators of biomedical equipment in case of technical and/or operational problems. Works under the supervision of the Director of Biomedical uired Skills * Graduation from a college, university or technical school in electronics or biomedical engineering * A minimum of 2-year experience in medical electronics * Must possess thorough knowledge of electronic and electrical safety principles, practices, policies and procedures * Verbal communication skills required to interact with hospital staff and manufacturer representatives to solve equipment problems * Written communication skills required maintain records and prepare reports * Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds to move equipment and supplies * Requires standing, sitting, lifting, climbing, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, and walking * Must be able to wear half mask respirator to comply with OSHA requirements * Certification as a Certified Biomedical equipment technician (CBET) with the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)Job LocationLAKEWOOD, KANSAS CITY, MO USPosition TypeFull-Time/Regular Shift Schedule 7:30AM - 4:00PM
