Hydroprocessing Business Development Engineer
Title: Hydroprocessing Business Development Engineer Location: Kansas-LEAWOOD DuPont Clean Technologies owns IsoTherming® hydroprocessing technology which is a patented, novel, low cost, high performance technology targeting oil refinery applications. We are adding staff to support and help grow this exciting business opportunity. There is an immediate opening for a Senior Hydroprocessing Specialist to be located in the IsoTherming® Licensing and Marketing group located in Leawood, Kansas. This group is accountable for the development of proposals, marketing of the technology and providing ongoing support to potential clients.
This position requires a strong background in hydroprocessing with an emphasis on hydroprocessing reaction chemistry and commercial operating experience. This individual will be primarily responsible for further development of DuPont hydroprocessing IP including process modeling, particularly in the area of trickle bed technology, and long term strategy development around technology development. This individual will work with multiple inter-disciplinary teams to set development priorities, analyze data, develop scale-up standards and analyze optimal process and catalyst solutions for hydroprocessing designs.
Position Responsibilities: * Develop and deliver proposals which meet the needs of Licensing and Marketing. * Use understanding of mass transfer and reaction engineering to make innovative contributions to the process model development around IsoTherming and trickle bed processes. * Ability to gather and analyze data, set priorities, organize tasks and meet deadlines, while coordinating multiple job functions. * Able to understand every aspect of a proprietary process, including chemistry, equipment, problems to avoid, research results, design standards, and plant histories. * Effectively communicate to both internal and external customers.

Basic Candidate Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required. * Minimum 10 years experience in petroleum refinery hydroprocessing field is required. * Good mastery of HYSYS and process optimization. * Petroleum refining hydroprocessing modeling, process simulation and/or operations experience are highly desired.
Additional Candidate Qualifications: * Excellent communication skills to understand and document customer requirements and to effectively convey recommendations to other disciplines. * Thorough understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals: kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena. * Ideal candidate is high-energy, creative, and a self-starter, who demonstrates technical excellence and is comfortable working in a team environment. * Have position of a valid U.S. Passport and a willingness to travel up to 50% on an annual basis.
