Industrial Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform all aspects of Industrial Engineering activities, as it applies to Warehousing, Reverse Logistics, and Operations. Responsibilities will include sustainable process design and improvement, cost/benefit analysis of projects, and reporting results to management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Design and implement efficient product flow processes that enhance and balance the accuracy of product movement with utilization of labor and resources
* Provide analysis and input on physical layout design of workspaces for maximum flexibility and productivity while meeting demand requirements
* Evaluate, recommend, and help implement staffing models to efficiently accommodate changing demand and processes
* Apply statistical methods to estimate future department needs and to analyze product/process performance
* Analyze, design and improve ergonomics within Operations to enhance productivity, reduce fatigue, and ensure a safe environment.
* Analyze, justify, and implement special packaging projects, including tooling and equipment set-up
* Provide recommendations and analysis for enhancing conveyor control systems
* Coordinate and lead projects related to continuous improvement within Operations
* Recommend, design, and test improvements to information systems in Operations to allow for effective information flow
* Design processes, tools, or systems utilizing and applying knowledge of lean manufacturing and engineering principles
* Prepare meaningful and actionable metrics, flow charts, and diagrams as needed
* Be an advocate and teacher of lean principles in non-traditional environments
OTHER RESPONSBILITIES:
* Provide recommendations on new projects, improvements of processes and product design changes
* Recommend and provide analysis on machinery that enhances department function, by working with purchasing
* Develop and provide training on procured machinery
* Accept and complete projects as assigned
Due to the amount of resources and expense exhausted in training for this position, a minimum of one year from the start of this position will be required before an associate is eligible for a job transfer.

Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
* Must possess excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and demonstrate leadership
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced, and challenging environment
* Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
* Ability to use analytical skills in problem solving
* Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and respectful interpersonal communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum of 2 years industrial engineering experience
* Previous experience in warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing settings
* Fluent in statistical analysis
* Oracle software experience
* AutoCAD experience
* Education or experience in PLC Programming
