Honeywell would like to add new Install Tech Specialist to our team in Manhattan, KS. The Install Tech Specialist will be responsible for installation and /or commissioning of Honeywell Control systems. This position interfaces with sales, customers, contractors, vendors, Honeywell engineers, estimators, project managers, other technicians, and supply management.
General Job Duties · Be responsible for commissioning start-up and checkout of systems using the software provided by engineering for large jobs (long cycle time) or software possibly written by themselves in small jobs (short cycle time jobs) · Understand and execute all project guidelines for software checkout, this would include checking systems, point check via software SOPs, sample checking VAVs, unitary controls based on suggested sample size · Complete technician work under estimated hours and within allocated time frame · On small jobs (short cycle jobs) be responsible for complete ownership of project in field, coordinate with subcontractors/vendors as applicable and work with customers to obtain completion sign-off · Be responsible for Honeywell equipment at field site, its handling if required and correct installation by subcontractors, also be responsible for Honeywell assets such as tools, proprietary software and database at job site · Ensure that configuration management policy is followed which involves back up of all changes on an ongoing basis and final archiving of hardware and software to the Honeywell server · Participate in sales support activities such as surveys, application selection and possibly hardware engineering for bid jobs to support our growth Basic Qualifications · Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Disciplines - OR - in lieu of degree, 3 years of HVAC Automation Controls experience along with a high school diploma · Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record · 1 year experience with Microsoft Office/Windows
Preferred Qualifications · Working knowledge of IT equipment and troubleshooting · Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams · Knowledge of HVAC systems, Control systems, Mechanical system operation and building facilities · Diagnostic and Troubleshooting skills · Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done in a timely and effective manner · Strong communication skills sufficient to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors · Ability to work as a member of a team · Ability to work independently and accomplish all commissioning tasks · Coaching and mentoring skills to guide Associate Install Technical Specialists · Working towards Microsoft or Cisco certifications · NICET Fire Level 1 or 2 Certification desirable
