Radar RF Design Engineer

Garmin's Marine Engineering team is seeking an experienced Radar Design Engineer to design and develop marine radar electronics and systems, along with other RF circuits, equipment, and systems for the wide array of products that Garmin designs, manufactures and markets.
A Garmin RF Radar Design engineer will be responsible for the:
* Design, debug, and test marine surface radar and Radio Frequency (RF) and Analog circuits
* Develop new designs from approved product concepts with minimal or no assistance which maximize performance and minimize cost
* Prepare or direct preparation of product layouts, detailed drawings and schematics
* Direct and coordinate manufacture of prototypes
* Plan and develop experimental test programs to verify compliance to all applicable regulations and quality guidelines
* Analyze test data and reports to determine if the proposed design meets functional and performance specifications
* Research new technologies independently as directed by management
* Mentor less experienced design engineers in areas such as design standards, cost analysis, design techniques, debugging techniques, and project management
* Participate in design reviews imparting lessons learned and good design practices to all who attend.
* Coordinate with other functional teams during the life cycle of the product and be responsible for and require design modifications
* Evaluate engineering test results for possible application to developments of other systems
* Use of software tools and test equipment to formulate and test electronic designs
* Support production facilities in the manufacture of products
* Interface with the Test Engineers and factory personnel on the testing and production of the products
* Perform cost/performance tradeoff analysis of different circuit options
* Investigate the usage of the latest components and technologies
* Complete documentation of the design in the required formats

Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess the following education, experience and skills:
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from a four-year college or university or 4 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
* Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
* Must possess a minimum of 5 years work experience developing and designing surface radar and other RF circuits relevant to Garmin's business needs
* Must possess a minimum of 5 years product development experience including immersive involvement with all product phases, including product concept, detailed circuit and product design, factory prototype production support, factory and field issue resolution, EOL management
* Proven knowledge and/or experience of engineering and manufacturing processes and documentation
* Excellent time management skills and ability to generate and support pragmatic solutions that meet Garmin's market launch requirements, while maintaining high quality standards
* Must possess detailed knowledge and experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation relevant to Garmin's business needs
* Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse cross functional team, serving the goals of the company
Desirable qualifications for this role include;
* Superior academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 as a general rule)
* Experience developing surface radar or other RF circuits for marine products/systems
* Experience leading project development and teams
* X-Band RF Circuit design using distributed impedances
* Solid State Transmitter Design.
* GPS/Bluetooth/WIFI Receiver/Antenna Design
* Experience using RF test equipment and simulation tools (ADS, Eagleware, or similar) for electronics design, testing and documentation relevant to Garmin's business needs
* Ability to travel occasionally as needed to participate in prototype production runs or other activities as directed
