Software Quality Analyst-Marine Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform software test case development and testing activities for Garmin products in a team-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develop and maintain test cases as necessary per test process, methodologies used to include Functional, End to End and Validation testing
· Create test plans that are applicable to each release by working closely with product development teams to ensure quality and usability of Garmin products
· Execute test cases/scripts as identified per test process
· Analyze test results and users' feedback, and communicate with product development teams to assist in problem resolution.
· Analyze test results (also comparing one build to another) to create periodic test reports per test process
· Participate in the definition of new or improvements of test processes
· Provide leadership on small to mid-sized projects with responsibilities that include test planning, test activity coordination and reporting test results to development teams.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead overall test planning and execution for a specified product, if assigned
· Provide training to new team members as assigned
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school or a minimum of 2 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
· Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
· Must possess relevant experience and/or training in software quality assurance processes and methodologies relevant to Garmin's business needs for this role
· Must possess relevant experience and/or training creating test plans, conducting usability tests, and/or writing test scripts
· Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
· Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
· Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor of Science or Arts degree from a four-year college or university
· Superior academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
· Previous experience working in a team environment
· Experience testing and developing/analyzing software tests in a core product market (Aviation, Automotive, Mobile, Marine, OEM, Fitness, Outdoor and Recreation)
