This associate will be responsible for monitoring critical path nightly processing for multiple systems. They will be adding common JCL overrides to failed JOBS and restarting them in the scheduler. They will be working with others in a team environment. Escalation is an important function during the night and this associate will be responsible for escalating nightly issues to management within their group and to client puter Operations Specialists work under general supervision and follow standard procedures and detailed instructions in performing tasks. They possess a fundamental understanding of the computer operations environment (i.e., operating systems, application systems, terminology, infrastructures, languages, libraries, tools, processes, and procedures). They work independently on routine tasks and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions. Sr. Computer Operations Specialists monitor, track, and execute batch processing. They monitor and manage critical path processing for a defined set of systems in a multi-system environment. They verify successful completion of jobs. They recognize common problem conditions, such as abends, replication delays, back ups, and inconsistent results, and provide first-level problem diagnosis and resolution using troubleshooting procedures. They provide timely escalation of more complex problems to a technical support resource and/or to the appropriate level of senior staff. Sr. Computer Operations Specialists manipulate and/or prioritize batch jobs to meet service level agreements. They complete standard online and paper documentation (e.g., nightly log, monitor sheet, check lists). Responsibilities may also include regenerating output with assistance, updating/creating basic control members, monitoring service levels, and participating in scheduled disaster recovery activities. Sr. Computer Operations Specialists assist in orienting and training associates with less experience. They may also provide technical support to customers, resolving basic issues/inquiries regarding systems, applications, and data.
