Liberty Mutual Surety, an operating division of Liberty Mutual, specializes in providing contract surety for construction firms, manufacturers and suppliers, and commercial surety for corporations and individuals on an account and transactional basis.
In this entry level position, you will acquire and develop analytical skills and knowledge in financial and credit analysis, contractor evaluation, contract and project risk assessment and marketing to underwrite commercial and/or contract surety bonds.
As a Surety Underwriting Intern, you will have the opportunity to: * participate in real work every day, whether dealing directly with the client base in Surety underwriting and claims or doing analytical work; * work on specific projects where they have defined tasks and learn from each one; * become familiar with the Surety industry, LMS systems, processes and procedures and procedures; * build business and professional skills that will prepare them for leadership positions; * travel to Seattle for an exciting training opportunity as well as meet our exeutive team; and * gather experience that could convert to a full-time position upon graduation. Interns also complement hands-on experience with training in the essentials of a successful professional life including networking skills, business etiquette, and project management. Rising seniors close the summer at the Senior Forum - a three-day conference including Liberty Mutual senior executives and an inside look at the intricacies of the company structure, strategy, and vision. Qualifications: * Must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent. Prefer completion of business/finance core courses. * Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills * Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner * Ability to build and maintain effective relationships * Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions * Must meet minimum GPA requirements (3.0 or higher depending on school)
