Northrop Grumman Technical Services has an opening in its U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) Digital Support Team. We're looking for someone who is seeking personal advancement, challenging opportunities and the ability to make a difference by working side by side with the Department of Defense and other Government organizations. Our system engineers analyze requirements, develop and coordinate solutions and supervise the integration of hardware and software systems to support military digital training. The engineer oversees the operation of Microsoft Windows-based client systems; Microsoft Windows 2008, LINUX and UNIX servers; and peripherals that directly support the military training audience. They must be able to work independently and apply systems analysis and design techniques to unique military information systems in the broad area of Mission Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence. Engineers p erform surveys of exercise locations to identify assets and capabilities available for installing, operating and maintaining planned systems. They coordinate with training unit communications staff and other key, on-site personnel regarding the type and version of information systems assets to be employed, and the requirements for integrating those assets with MCTP systems. They also identify hardware and software issues impacting exercise control functions of MCTP, and prepare after action comments following each training event for submission to vendors, developers, or the Government as appropriate. The engineers review all program documentation, procedures and software updates for consistency, relevance and accuracy. They ensure compliance with Department of Defense hardware and software system configuration management policies. They also develop and conduct technical programs for skill enhancement and team cross training.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in on-the-job training is required. Previous military experience is a plus. Proficiency in the administration of Microsoft Windows server and client operating systems is expected, and experience with LINUX and UNIX operating systems is desirable. Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
