Description

   Analyzes and evaluates user requirements by coordinating with the user to define the problem, data availability, report requirements and system design problems.  Defines systems objectives and prepares system design specifications to meet user requirements and satisfy interface problems.  Analyzes alternative means of deriving input data to select the most accurate, feasible and economical method. Defines input and output file specifications including file organization.  Defines controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans including user training and orientation.  May provide work leadership to lower level employees.  Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities.
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field.  General knowledge of other related disciplines.  Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.  Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practical, and consistent with organization objectives.  Works under only general direction.  Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.  Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.  Contributions to the completion of specific programs and projects.  Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.   Frequent internal and external customer contacts.  Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

The contractor shall provide technical support services necessary for the maintenance and management of the server infrastructure in support of the Office of Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Region 6 ? Heartland Financial Systems Division and Region 7 ? Greater Southwest Financial Systems Division. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all facets of the OCFO server administration services to include;
? Server Administration of Red Hat Linux, MS Windows Server, VmWare, and Citrix XenApp environments
? Systems Configuration and Change Management
? Data Backup and Recovery
? Incident Response
? System Performance and Capacity Management
? Support and Implementation of Security Management Policies
? Continuity of Operations Plan / Disaster Recovery Support
? Software and Hardware Inventory Management
? Operations Documentation and Reporting
? Systems Architecture and Design Engineering
? User Identification and Access Management

   
 Education and
experience:  Preliminary clearance for MBI to start - full clearance to convert to full time
Administration
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/MIS and/or equivalent working experience.
? Minimum of four years experience in a position requiring Linux Redhat Server technical problem solving skills and or/ Microsoft Windows Server .
? Knowledge and understanding of Windows Server and Redhat Linux components (TCP/IP, Domain, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Kick-start, Shell Scripting, RPM) architecture, design, analysis and performance tools.
? Strong analytical ability, including operations methodology, and error detection and resolution techniques.
? Must maintain security and confidentiality of information accessible on Systems.
? Strong understanding of Ethernet topology, TCP/IP protocol.
Hardware
? Knowledge and understanding with the following concepts: High availability, fault tolerant, multi-processor server-class computers.
? Understanding of Intel based architecture, Ethernet Network Interface card configurations, SCSI controller functions and configurations, and the latest tape backup technologies.
? Knowledge of server diagnostics, analysis and trouble-shooting techniques.
? Understanding of systems integration and implementation utilizing a phased approach, industry best practices, planning and impact analysis.
Travel Required:  10% of time
